TaxoBuddy ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our professional tax intelligence services.
As a platform built for legal and tax professionals, we understand the critical nature of data privacy. Our systems are designed with isolation and security at their core.
02. Data Collection
Professional Information
We collect information that you provide directly to us when you register for an account, such as your name, professional email address, firm name, and professional credentials.
Query Data
We collect information related to your research queries to provide customized intelligence. Note that query data is encrypted and isolated per firm.
03. Data Security
We implement SOC2-compliant security measures, including end-to-end encryption for all query traffic and client-side isolation of professional data silos.
- AES-256 encryption at rest and in transit.
- Bi-annual independent security audits.
- Strict access control and internal logging.
04. Mobile App
This policy also covers the TaxoBuddy app for Android and iOS. The app collects only what it needs to run your account:
- Account details: your name, email address and mobile number (verified by a one-time code).
- Billing details: your state and, if you add it, your GSTIN, used on the tax invoices for your purchases.
- Your questions, the answers, and any files you attach, so that we can answer them and keep your chat history.
- Ratings and feedback you choose to give on answers.
The app does not access your location, contacts or photo library (only files you pick yourself), and it contains no advertising or third-party analytics. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Credit packs are paid through Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered in Razorpay's checkout and are never received or stored by TaxoBuddy; we receive only the payment status and reference.
We use service providers that process data only on our behalf: cloud hosting and AI processing (Amazon Web Services), payments (Razorpay), and email and WhatsApp messaging for verification codes and account notices.
05. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Profile → Delete account) or as described at taxobuddy.ai/delete-account.
When you delete your account you are signed out and can no longer log in, and within 30 days we permanently erase your chats, uploaded documents, feedback and personal details. Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as GST and tax law require.
